  • You're listening to a midi rendition of my composition "Pure Dream"
As part of my module requirement I had to compose a 1min composition...
But I was so interested in the midi composition techniques that i just... did a proper song!

"At the end of those 2 exam papers,

I have experienced the most difficult periods of my academic life.
To understand everything you've not understood in such a short time,
And to acheive so much in so little a time.
Yet if it wasnt for my friends who encouraged and dragged me to study,
the result could have been much disastrous.
Thanks dudes for the discussions, explanations, and food adventures.
I've gained much knowledge from u guys.
And perhaps gained some weight from u guys as well.
Very soon our fight shall end.
And then we can finally all do the numa numa dance in unity"

My dear blog, the only dairy i keep other than the written one.
It's time that you record the updates of my life once more.
My memory aint that good, but because you exist...
these memories can be relived and be forever in a cyberspace.
I'm now in my hostel room waiting to camp at the library once more,
to prepare for my last paper Biophysics I.
But i saw my blog temp pics folder and felt that its time i updated something...
This will be a very random entry indeed

    The PGP Desktop

I've always believed that HP represents reliability and stability, Great recovery and professionalism.
When I thought of those traits, I was perhaps just an IT idiot.
But now, I realised that HP desktops work horrendously with their preconfigured settings for a school domain like NUS.
Warning to all: Upgrading your HP desktop from Windows XP home to PRO will cause your partition to break and your HP configuration files to fail.
in the end, I had to format EVERYTHING and put everything back together just so that it'll work.
I had to disable the onboard damn sound, and get a $25 Creative sound card.
Thankfully, after removing the removable disks, my desktop finally works.
I will never forget the ordeal i had to go through because of this.

Enter the World of the Physics Majors

    Lack of Sleep

Year I Physics was fun. Everything seemed so relaxed and I felt that its was going to be a great life in NUS.
Year II Reality struck me. The truth is, the gap is too huge, and because I played too much in Year I, i had to try all means to pull up my grades.
Essentially Year I Physics was like a revision of A level Physics.
Year II Physics was absolutely horrifying.
One could totally understand what the lecture's about, yet know nothing during the exam.
maybe it's just me... but personally I felt that it's seriously no bed of roses for Physics majors.
Perhaps in the past when NUS did not have the general modules requirement, would it have been easier.
Alas, times change and they decide to cram math methods in physics into 1 module instead of the previous 2 seperate modules.
But on the whole, I've learnt alot to think alot.
Somehow it's hard to desrcibe what we do in physics.
It's like making sense of theories using equations and solving them, and using the tools (math and reasoning) to verify the physical explanations of theories that govern the laws of physics.
    Oh well, enough of that!

    Friends, Physics & Food Adventures

From buffets at Marina, to hawker legends in clementi, to Gyoza feasts at Business...

Thankfully my friends in Physics have lives.
They breath, talk, discuss, have fun, play games, play sports, love food and love food.
These guys know where the good food are man.
And when we have the time, Mark (bottom left) would fly us around in his car.
And there was even once, Andrielle literally "fly away" on Zhihao's Lorry.
This would be explained simply just as proff Dago would say ,"Kewl"
We go everywhere to eat man, think i've never visited so many good food places in a long time.
It's almost like a weekly rendition of Makan Sutra right here with my friends.
The food's great, the taste is great and oh boy, i think im going to gain some weight.
I'll make sure though that once the exam ends, it's basketball, swordfigthing and sentosa for moi.

    The pretty, cheeky, rabbity, wabbit

My rabbit has grown, but her playfulness remains!

Who would have thought that a guy like me would have a soft spot for my rabbit.
I've seen other rabbits but I still love mine much more.
She's so playful and intelligent! My parents think so too, that Yuri is exceptional.
My mum ever said that Yuri resembles me in many ways.
    Messy, smart, witty and hyperactive.
Yet she's tough enough to fend off other rabbits or even pple!
Her mid air summersaults and directional changes or crazy rabbit runs are so cute!!!
Well, in any case, my rabbit's grown...
She's bigger now, and I think it's time I find her a mate to be with.
Can't seem to find any Netherlands dwarf of the same type..
From what i know, there are american and australian versions to this species.
Think mine's American... and in anycase I'm going to find her her hubby when my exams end!

    Me, My hair and I

I didnt believe it when my mum said i looked like a girl because of my hair
After this photo that mark took with his n90, I went to cut my hair.

And so a long haired Reuben became a short haired Reuben. Eyebags included

I couldnt believe it when my pals told me to cut my hair,
cause my hair was longer than most girls in physics...
I got an immense shock when I saw Mark's photo of my studying in the Lab.
That was when i decided to get my hair cut asap.
Thankfully, it made me look more fresh i guess.
It also made the whole Physics crowd gasp in shock as i came late for my physics lecture.
The eyebags was a gradual thing. Late nights doing reports really shacked me out.
Experimental physics was indeed worthy of a single module by itself.
With no exams, but reports and presentations to do... alot of research needed to be done.
In fact for my presentation, i had to do what most physics majors would do in year 4!
    Particle Physics and Spin stuff.
Oh and in case there are some smarty pants who think, "oh i know those stuff.."
Physics isnt about knowing those stuff.. it's about working out the equations that govern them.
Sure one would know electrons have up and down spins.
but what about the vector describing this? Lz = +1/2ms?
how are spins related to their quantum numbers l, m and s?
Anyway, it's a whole new world in university physics. Trust me.

And so i shall now resume my life in the library,
preparing for the most boring lecture but mentall demanding module..
    Biophysics I.
Yup, its all memory... but i aint got the mega memory most pple have man.
    I just have the concepts...
