  • "As I took my bags and prepared to say goodbye..
I felt a plunging sense of sadness because i know I'll miss them.
But I put on a smile as I waved my hands saying..
"This is not the end. It's only the beginning"
It was here at the NUS Science Camp that new bonds were forged.
Where new relationships and experiences were made.
It is by far one of the Best camps i ever had,
Simply because it had the greatest people in it "

As i entered LT31 it was no encouragement to realise that my OG had just 3 guys.
"Perhaps the girls will be coming soon?
There's my friend Adeline who's supposed to come?"
    Man i was wrong..
apparently she decided not to come and my OG consisted of 3 freshies.
But there were many seniors around though..

And through time, we got used to each other, combining events with our buddy OG
Forming a new OG called Wassup Dupers!
It's a wierd name, but the OG packs a punch!
The first day we went to Sentosa to prepare for fright night.
It was a great idea to put it on the first day of the camp.
Unifies the OG by... scaring people?? hahaha

Here's some of my seniors and OGLs! That's lingling, Eunice, Jane.. Ian and Alex

and the guys from my OG, Benny, Timothy, Junji and Charles.
That's Peng Tat on the right.. aka "No.3"

and that's Ling and Keling! hehe..

    Fright night was awesome.
The acting was great, the make up almost realistic... and the setting.
What better way to walk through dark corridors than in abandoned houses in sentosa?
If i were a girl, i'd probably be just as freaked out.
I've seen girls running out of the houses, screaming..
girls getting traumatised and even guys coming out blurred and mind boggled.
    The scary thing is...
how can we tell if some of the things we see were not meant to be there? ........
But in the end, I got my hands covered with thick blood,
got my hair up on all ends..
and got to see Charles freak out
when a woman appeared right at the door as we made our exit.. haha

    Next morning was beach games...
And i had a great time enjoying the sun sand sea and the ice cream. heh
We splashed, had abrasions, sunburned and whatever..
and it was all good i tell ya. Tired, aching but good.
I lost my precious ring while bathing too.
It fell into the drain while i was bathing
and i just stared into the deep darkness
wondering why of all places it dropped it dropped there..

But the night ended with something spectacular.
Ever fancied sleeping under the fishes?
Our whole camp slept at underwater world..
pity the tunnel was already crowded with the early birds..
but we had a spot next to the sea turtles! it was beautiful...
    and freezing icy too..
and in the morning, i said hi to mr Turtle. heh

The next few days were held at NUS raffles Hall.
Gosh the events they held were definitely appealing.
On the second day the highlight was this game "Who killed Andrea"
It was like cluedo, but with a major makeover with a touch of gaming magic.
As a team we were to get clues to reveal who, when and what killed andrea.
The team was split into 3 parts, one to make "money" to buy the clues.
the other went to search for light sticks,
to free prisoners and obtain immunity from the "Devils and Policemen"
And the remaining team went to challenge the "Fortune teller" for clues.
I was on the team making the "money", so we had to visit the "Casino"
But in the end i got caught by the "Devil" *stupid Gina* and sent to the jail,
where i had the do push-ups, sit-ups and toilet squats
to show my OG how tormented i am. haha... in the end they bought me back.
The game was hectic, chaotic, witty and challenging.
But it was really great fun just playing it. Enjoyed myself alot!

The highlight for the 3rd day was the Inter-fac games.
Where i screamed my lungs out and cheered like no one was looking at me.
It was really nice to see all my friends from the other faculties too.
There was my best friend Paul, Brandon, James, Charles.. some girls too.
but i forgotten their names. haha...
    Another thing though,
seems that the Science camp committee members were mostly from ACJC.
so i know them someway or another.
That explains why they knew my name the first time i saw them. haha..
Later in the evening we had talentnight!
And instead of just making some song to impress the pple,
We Freshmen of Wassup Duper decided to make a skit to show our
appreciation to our seniors and OGLS alike. A shared effort for a Joint
    purpose...
To say a hearty thank you to all of you...

And on the final day, we finally got to meet our SP
    Our secret pal..
In the past few days, I was blindfolded and found myself
chatting with someone i never knew and never seen who's from another OG.
The good thing though is that we shared something in common..
    Singing!
And on the final day of revelation. we had to dress up before meeting the girl.

    Our babes. Hot stuff...
There's "Xiao ling", "Da-ling", Sheena, Shuhui, Eunice, Valerie and Catherine.
Hmmm where was Joanne and Jane? haha

     i guessed the correct girl!
Brought her to the piano area where i played a song for her too
A lovely girl i'd say, Xiu Juan... so lovely sweet and demure.
Fair and pretty, soft spoken and gentle. Wow. haha..
Anyway, later that night the whole camp went to Chinablack!
And we were all ready and prepared to dance like mad!
The theme was PINK!, but unfortunately i didn't have pink shirts with me..
Some of our seniors had them though.. haha

Haha, no prize for punching the right spot! That's Benny and Junwei..

    The guys looking cool... heh
That's "The OGL", "Elvis","Travolta" & "Austin powers" hehe

And that's Shuhui and Sheena. ain't they pretty and pink? heh

When we got to town, we had dinner at a Vietnamese place outside Fareast.
The spring rolls were great! Nice food, great ambiance and locality to boot!
Too bad it wasn't big enough to house everyone at one time..

Le Viat restaurant i believe... yeah that's what it's called.

As as the night went on in Chinablack, we had breakdancers perform an item for us.
Leaving most of us impressed and awed at the rhythmic dance moves.
There was a catwalk too.. where pple strut off with cool designs and even bikini wear.
Gosh and later i got arrowed to go up on stage to catwalk half naked!
But it was all fun. Just for the laughs and stuff..
and it was the last night i had with them

but as i mentioned.. it's only the beginning! mwahaha
SCAMP 2004 Rocks real hard man!

Will never forget the pple, the sweat, the sprained ankle, the
tomatoes splurting against my face, the scissors paper stone games on
the beach, frisby games, the ultra long and cool Mass dance, how i
stood on top of the lecture table doing the Macerena, the "Chicken
rice" cheer we do before we eat, or how i tried to bargain with Gina to
let me off by trying to win her at scissors paper stones, the honey
water our OGLs prepared for us, how some guys actually bathed
themselves at the leg wash area when no girls were looking, or being
mistakenly water bombed by someone at the field, or how Mona Lisa
actually tried to seduce Tim, watching Sharon get thrown onto the soap
wrestling area, squeezing 150+ pple into a small radius of rope, or
hearing the whole camp screaming LIVE on Power98.

There are too many memories to actually remember.
Yet i shall not forget any of them.
to Alex, Eunice, Jane, Lingling, Joanne, Junwei, Weisheun, Benny,
Charles, Valerie, Shuhui, Sheena, Ian, Peng Tat, Keling, Lingling,
    Timothy, Junji...

THANK YOU FOR MAKING WASSUP DUPER
THE MOST ENTHUSIASTIC OG IN SCAMP 2004!

*All picture were taken with the Nokia 6230. How cool's that? heh*
